生态习性
栖息于大型河流和湖泊的深水区，尤其偏好水流缓慢的沙泥底质水域。肉食性，以鱼类、甲壳类、软体动物为食，偶尔摄食水生植物。日活动高峰在清晨和黄昏，善游泳和潜伏。繁殖期在旱季，雌龟在河岸沙洲产卵，每窝约50-100枚。
